Higher Options is hiring a highly analytical and detail-driven Senior Accountant to support the financial and accounting operations of a growing U.S.-based group of hospitality and events brands.This role is ideal for someone with deep QuickBooks Online expertise who not only understands how to maintain clean books, but also understands the why behind transaction classifications, the story behind the numbers, and how financial activity impacts the income statement, balance sheet, and overall business performance.
We are looking for someone who can confidently review financials from one month to the next, identify unusual fluctuations, spot inconsistencies early, and help maintain accurate, reliable reporting across multiple entities.
What you’ll do:Own and maintain accurate accounting records in QuickBooks OnlineReview and classify transactions correctly, with a strong understanding of their impact on the income statement and balance sheetPrepare and review monthly financial statements across multiple entitiesAnalyze month-over-month financial results and flag numbers that look unusual or inconsistentReconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, intercompany transactions, and other key accountsLead month-end and year-end close processes with accuracy and timelinessOversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functionsSupport payroll review, payroll allocations, and related reporting across entitiesMonitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting needsHelp maintain accurate inventory, COGS, fixed asset, and general ledger recordsSupport tax compliance, audit readiness, and coordination with external accountants or advisorsImprove accounting workflows, documentation, and standard operating proceduresPartner closely with founders and leadership to provide clear, useful financial insight
What we’re looking for:Strong, hands-on experience with QuickBooks OnlineExcellent understanding of financial statements, including the relationship between the P&L, balance sheet, and underlying transactionsAbility to explain and apply the logic behind transaction classificationStrong analytical skills, with the ability to compare financials month to month and identify discrepancies or red flagsExperience with multi-entity accounting and reconciliationsStrong knowledge of general ledger accounting and month-end closeHigh attention to detail and commitment to accuracyAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentClear written and verbal English communicationComfortable working remotely with U.S.-based teams and stakeholdersExperience with tools such as Google Workspace, Slack, Asana, Loom, and payroll/accounting platforms
Preferred qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldCPA or equivalent is a plus4+ years of accounting experience2+ years in a senior-level accounting roleExperience in U.S. companies or American-aligned work environmentsStrong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting best practices
