About the role

PKC Group is seeking a fixed assets accountant for the Acuña Coahuila role. The role works closely with Finance, Operations, Plant Teams, CWIP contacts, and the Motherson leadership team to support accurate asset records, financial controls, and timely reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach cross-functional teams, including CWIP operations associates and Plant Finance, to ensure fixed assets are safeguarded and accounted for properly.
  • Check budget alignment, classification, and supporting documentation for fixed asset purchase orders.
  • Evaluate asset additions to determine whether costs should be capitalized or expensed.
  • Work with the Tax Department and Import/Export to classify assets in line with Mexican government requirements.
  • Coordinate asset transfers and maintain accurate asset location and ownership records.
  • Maintain documentation for audits, internal controls, and management review.
  • Ensure additions, depreciation, transfers, and disposals are recorded in the Fixed Assets Subledger.
  • Implement continuous improvement and best practices in fixed assets.
  • Reconcile the Fixed Asset Database, Fixed Asset Subledger, and ERP General Ledger.
  • Lead the annual physical inventory count of fixed assets at all plant locations.
  • Monitor and reconcile tooling project costs against received deposits.
  • Comply with PKC Group's Environment, Health and Safety Policy and Energy Policy, and ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and municipal legislation and regulations.
  • Contribute to the effectiveness of the Energy, Environment, Health and Safety Management System, including its EMASS Objectives and Goals.
