DXC is seeking an experienced Automotive Electrical Systems Engineer / Advanced Diagnostic Specialist to join our engineering and technical services organization. This role is responsible for diagnosing, analyzing, and resolving complex electrical, electronic, and vehicle communication system issues across modern automotive platforms.The ideal candidate combines a strong electrical engineering foundation with extensive hands-on diagnostic expertise. This professional will investigate difficult and intermittent electrical faults, develop structured troubleshooting strategies, perform circuit and network analysis, and identify root causes that cannot be resolved through standard diagnostic procedures.The successful candidate will possess exceptional analytical skills and the ability to work independently on highly complex vehicle systems, including electrical architectures, communication networks, electronic control units, advanced driver-assistance systems, and electrified vehicle technologies.Essential Job FunctionsPerform advanced troubleshooting and diagnosis of automotive electrical and electronic systems.Investigate intermittent, recurring, and difficult-to-reproduce electrical faults using engineering-based diagnostic methodologies.Analyze vehicle electrical architectures, wiring systems, power distribution circuits, grounding systems, sensors, actuators, and electronic control modules.Interpret and utilize complex electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, connector pinouts, technical manuals, engineering documentation, and service information.Utilize advanced diagnostic equipment including:Digital multimetersOscilloscopesCurrent probesInsulation and continuity testersAutomotive scan toolsCAN/LIN diagnostic toolsNetwork analyzersData acquisition systemsDiagnose and troubleshoot vehicle communication networks, including CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Automotive Ethernet, and related protocols.Analyze communication failures between ECUs, BCMs, PCMs, gateway modules, and other vehicle subsystems.Perform electrical signal analysis involving voltage, current, resistance, frequency, duty cycle, waveform characterization, and network communication measurements.Identify open circuits, short circuits, high-resistance conditions, voltage drops, parasitic current draws, intermittent connections, grounding faults, and signal integrity issues.Conduct structured root-cause investigations and document findings, measurements, testing methodologies, and corrective actions.Develop and execute diagnostic test plans for issues not resolved through conventional DTC-based procedures.Evaluate diagnostic trouble codes and determine whether they represent root causes or secondary symptoms.Perform fault isolation at the vehicle, subsystem, circuit, and component levels.Diagnose complex interactions across multiple vehicle systems and determine failure mechanisms involving hardware, wiring, software, communication networks, calibration, or system integration.Support field investigations, warranty concerns, manufacturing issues, and product quality initiatives.Reproduce difficult fault conditions through controlled testing and experimental analysis.Analyze technical data to identify trends, recurring failure patterns, and systemic issues.Develop technical reports documenting diagnostic procedures, findings, root causes, corrective recommendations, and lessons learned.Provide technical mentorship and guidance to engineers, technicians, and diagnostic personnel.Stay current with evolving automotive technologies, electrification trends, vehicle networking architectures, and diagnostic methodologies.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical discipline.Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering principles, including:DC and AC circuit analysisOhm's LawKirchhoff's LawsElectrical load analysisAnalog and digital electronicsRelays and switching circuitsGrounding, shielding, and noise mitigationElectromagnetic interference conceptsSignificant hands-on experience diagnosing automotive electrical and electronic systems.Advanced understanding of vehicle electrical architectures, power distribution systems, and electronic control systems.Demonstrated ability to interpret complex automotive electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.Strong understanding of sensors, actuators, ECUs, body electronics, and control module functionality.Experience using oscilloscopes and advanced electrical test equipment for real-world signal analysis.Experience diagnosing CAN and LIN communication networks.Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.Proven ability to distinguish symptoms, contributing factors, and root causes.Ability to independently solve highly complex technical problems.Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.Other Qualifications (Preferred)Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field.Experience with electric vehicle (EV) and hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) systems.Experience with battery management systems, motor controls, inverters, and charging systems.Experience with automotive embedded systems and ECU diagnostics.Proficiency using CANalyzer, CANoe, Vehicle Spy, or equivalent diagnostic tools.Knowledge of UDS (Unified Diagnostic Services) and automotive diagnostic communication standards.Familiarity with SAE, ISO, and automotive electrical engineering standards.Experience with Automotive Ethernet and cybersecurity concepts.Working knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink, LabVIEW, Python, or equivalent engineering tools.Experience applying FMEA, 8D, fault tree analysis, or structured problem-solving methodologies.Experience within automotive OEM, Tier 1 supplier, manufacturing, validation, development, quality, warranty, or field-service organizations.Core CompetenciesThe
