Senior Backend Engineer

Job Overview

Plan A Technologies is looking for a skilled Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale the core server-side logic of our applications. In this role, you will act as a strong generalist, focused on creating high-performance microservices, managing seamless data flow, and optimizing backend infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate complex technical requirements into robust, production-ready systems.

Please note: you must have at least 7+ years of experience professionally developing with Go (Golang) and Python to be considered for this role.

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

Design, develop, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable backend services and APIs.Implement and manage real-time data pipelines and asynchronous messaging systems.Identify bottlenecks, optimize application performance, and ensure high availability of core services.Develop and maintain scheduled tasks, background workers, and automation workflows.Work alongside frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions.

Experience

7+ years of experience professionally developing with Go (Golang) and Python.Strong experience building high-performance microservices and defining efficient RPC protocols (gRPC).Proven experience working with message brokers and event-driven architecture (Kafka, Pub-Sub).Demonstrated experience designing and managing scheduled jobs and background processes (Cron).Excellent verbal and written English communication skillsExcellent organizational, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.Initiative and drive to do great things.

Nice-to-Have

Proficiency with Java.Experience with Celery for distributed task queues.
