Logistics and Transportation firm is seeking a Senior Billing Specialist to join our growing accounting team in Memphis.
This role is ideal for someone with 10+ years of billing experience who enjoys analytical work, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is eager to learn a specialized business. Industry experience is not required, but candidates should be motivated to learn the terminal handling industry and its terminology.
About the RoleDue to the complexity and volume of billing activity, this role requires strong attention to detail, advanced Excel capabilities, and the ability to work through highly manual billing processes, as the company currently does not utilize a dedicated billing module.
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable navigating complex billing scenarios while continuously seeking opportunities to improve processes and workflows.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and process high-volume customer invoices accurately and efficientlyManage complex billing calculations and manual invoicing processes using ExcelReview billing data for accuracy and resolve discrepancies as neededPartner with internal departments to gather and validate billing informationAssist in streamlining and improving billing processes and workflowsSupport accounts receivable functions and related reconciliationsMaintain accurate records and documentation related to billing activityLearn and understand terminal handling operations and industry-specific terminologyCollaborate closely with the accounting and operations teams to ensure timely and accurate invoicingQualifications10 years of billing experience requiredHigh-volume billing experience strongly preferredAdvanced Excel skills requiredStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesUnderstanding of basic accounting concepts, including debits and creditsExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication skills and willingness to learnBusiness degree is a plusNote: Qualified candidates will be contacted within 2 business days of application.
