Descripción del empleo
Senior Data Scientist — Buenos AiresAbout RED AtlasRED Atlas is building the data infrastructure powering real estate transactions across Latin America. Often described as the "Bloomberg terminal for Latin American real estate," we operate a proprietary multi-source property data platform covering Puerto Rico, Colombia, Argentina, and Spain, serving enterprise clients through an API-first model alongside our professional platform, Atlas Professional. We hold three issued US patents covering our AI-powered search, multi-modal data processing, and geographic segmentation technology. Headquartered in San Juan, Puerto Rico, with our engineering hub in Buenos Aires.
The RoleThis is a full-time, on-site role based in our Buenos Aires office, working directly with our scraping, platform, and data science teams. You'll report into our Head of Data Science and take ownership of some of the most technically demanding problems in our stack: our AI-powered AVM (Automated Valuation Model), multi-source data ingestion and resolution, and address/geometry cleansing systems that turn messy municipal, MLS, and scraped data into a single coherent property graph across four countries. This is not a dashboard-building role. We're looking for someone who can architect models end-to-end, push back on bad assumptions, and grow into a technical leader as we scale toward Series A and beyond.
What you'll actually doDesign, ship, and monitor production ML models — valuation, entity resolution, address normalization, geographic segmentationPartner closely with the scraping team to improve data quality upstream, and with the platform team to ship models behind our enterprise APIsOwn the experimental pipeline: hypothesis → prototype → evaluation → production → monitoringWork with messy, multilingual, multi-jurisdictional real estate data (this is the hard and interesting part)Contribute to patent-worthy R&D — we have three issued US patents and an active pipeline
What we're looking for5+ years of applied data science or ML engineering experience, with models you've shipped to production (not just notebooks)Deep Python proficiency; comfort with the modern ML stack (scikit-learn, PyTorch or TensorFlow, XGBoost/LightGBM)Strong SQL and experience working with large, messy datasets at scale · Solid grounding in statistics — you can explain why your model works, not just that it doesExperience with geospatial data, NLP, or entity resolution is a significant plusExperience with real estate, fintech, or any domain involving noisy multi-source data is valuedMSc or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or a related quantitative field — or equivalent demonstrated experienceFluent English (written and spoken); our engineering team operates in English, but most of the BA hub speaks Spanish day-to-day
What makes someone great hereYou've been the person who figured out why a production model silently degradedYou read papers but are skeptical of complexity for its own sakeYou can disagree with an engineer, a PM, or the CEO and make your case with dataYou want to grow into technical leadershipCompensation & logisticsBase salary: USD $60,000 – $90,000 depending on experienceMeaningful equity grantOn-site at our Buenos Aires office, 4-5 days a week — we believe engineering and data science teams ship better work in person, especially at our stage
