About the role
Cambium is seeking a Senior Health & Safety Manager for a major luxury residential and hospitality development in Los Cabos, Mexico. This site-focused role is responsible for Health, Safety & Environmental performance across five active construction sites, with further projects in the development pipeline.
The current programme includes luxury condominium buildings, private residences and a beach club expansion with a new pool, spa, theatre, wellness facilities, restaurants and other amenities. The role includes authority to stop work where safety standards are not met and a proactive approach to identifying risks before incidents occur.
Responsibilities
- Oversee HSE and environmental performance across multiple concurrent construction sites.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits and identify unsafe conditions.
- Ensure contractors and subcontractors comply with required HSE standards.
- Challenge General Contractors when standards fall short and stop work where necessary.
- Develop preventative measures through planning and risk assessment.
- Drive a strong safety culture throughout the development.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Mexican HSE regulations and requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum 8–10 years of construction HSE experience.
- Strong practical experience working directly on active construction sites.
- Developer or main contractor backgrounds will be considered.
- Experience on complex vertical construction is particularly attractive, including high-rise residential, commercial, hospitality or healthcare projects.
- Strong working knowledge of Mexican construction safety and environmental requirements.
Benefits
Base salary of MXN $80,000 - MXN $90,000 per month, plus bonus, incentives and benefits.
