About the role
The Functionary is hiring a Senior IT Support Specialist to manage its IT ecosystem, including Microsoft 365, network infrastructure, virtual desktops and a new office build-out.
Responsibilities
- Manage Entra ID (Azure AD), Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams and Intune, including users, licenses, security policies, MFA and compliance.
- Configure and support LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi and VPN environments; troubleshoot connectivity, performance and security issues; and work with vendors and service providers.
- Support Azure Virtual Desktop, Windows 365, AWS VDI or similar environments.
- Maintain Windows endpoints, patching and hardware lifecycle, and automate routine tasks using scripts and tools.
- Lead IT planning for a new office location, including network and Wi-Fi design, cabling, hardware selection, conference rooms, AV systems and workstation deployment.
- Act as a Tier 2/3 escalation point, mentor junior IT staff, create documentation, standards and procedures, and improve security, systems and efficiency.
Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive IT experience in a senior role.
- Strong Microsoft 365 and security administration experience.
- Knowledge of Azure, Entra ID, Intune and endpoint management.
- Solid networking background, including switches, Wi-Fi and VPNs.
- Experience with virtual desktop environments and ability to manage IT projects independently.
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Microsoft 365, CompTIA A+/Network+, CCFA or similar certifications are nice to have.
