Senior IT Leader

Job OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Senior IT Leader to provide strategic technology leadership and advisory support focused on IT strategy, governance, cybersecurity, compliance, cloud technology, and vendor management. This role will work closely with executive leadership to establish technology priorities, assess risks, optimize IT investments, and develop long-term technology roadmaps.The ideal candidate is a senior IT professional with strong experience in strategic planning, IT governance, Microsoft 365/Azure, cybersecurity, vendor management, and executive-level communication.This is a strategic leadership role and does not involve day-to-day IT operations, end-user support, or management of internal IT staff.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain the organization's IT strategy and multi-year technology roadmap.Establish and maintain a strategic roadmap for Microsoft 365 and Azure, including short- and long-term priorities.Provide guidance on Azure cost optimization, cloud spending, and FinOps practices.Provide strategic oversight of cybersecurity, IT risk, compliance, backup, and disaster recovery planning.Establish IT governance frameworks, policies, decision-making processes, and escalation procedures.Advise executive leadership on technology architecture, systems, and major IT initiatives.Serve as a senior point of contact and strategic advisor for key technology vendors and managed service providers.Oversee vendor performance, technology contracts, licensing, renewals, and opportunities for cost optimization.Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and decision rights between internal teams and external IT providers.Participate in change governance and provide risk-based recommendations for significant technology changes.Prepare executive-level reports, assessments, recommendations, and technology updates.Establish a consistent cadence for IT reporting, executive reviews, and technology roadmap updates.
Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.10+ years of progressive experience in IT leadership, technology strategy, or IT consulting.Previous experience in a senior IT leadership role such as IT Director, CIO, VP of IT, Head of IT, or similar.Strong experience developing and executing IT strategies and technology roadmaps.Experience with Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure.Strong understanding of IT governance, cybersecurity, risk management, and compliance.Experience managing technology vendors, managed service providers, contracts, and licensing.Strong understanding of disaster recovery and business continuity planning.Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical information to executive leadership.Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred QualificationsExperience providing strategic IT advisory or consulting services.Experience with Azure cost optimization or FinOps practices.Familiarity with IT governance frameworks such as ITIL or COBIT.Experience with enterprise architecture and technology transformation.Experience working with cybersecurity and compliance frameworks.Experience overseeing technology initiatives across multiple locations or business units.
