Senior/Lead Application Support Engineer (Java + SQL + Integrations) - Financial Services

Job Description

We re seeking a Senior/Lead Application Support Engineer (Java & SQL) to provide L1/L2 production support for a portfolio of business-critical enterprise applications. This role focuses on incident resolution, root-cause analysis, production monitoring, SQL-based investigations, application troubleshooting, integration support, and release validation across complex distributed systems.

The ideal candidate has strong experience supporting Java-based applications in production environments, troubleshooting integrations and data issues, and collaborating with business and engineering teams to maintain system stability and service levels.

This role is open to candidates at either the Senior or Lead level, depending on experience and overall alignment with the role’s requirements. The final level will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and technical expertise.

Qualifications

Skills & Experience (Must Have)

Candidates should demonstrate most or all of the following:

Application Production Support

6-8+ years of experience supporting enterprise applications in production environments.Strong experience in L2 support, incident management, problem management, and root-cause analysis.

Java Support Engineering

Hands-on experience supporting Java-based applications.Experience troubleshooting Java, Spring Framework, REST services, application logs, exceptions, and backend processes.

SQL & Data Investigation

Strong SQL skills including:Complex query developmentData validationData reconciliationStored proceduresPerformance analysisProduction data troubleshooting
Integrations & APIs

Experience supporting REST APIs and enterprise integrations.Troubleshooting data synchronization, interface failures, batch processing, and file-based integrations.

Monitoring & Observability

Hands-on experience with at least one enterprise monitoring platform such as:SplunkDynatraceAppDynamicsNew Relic
IT Service Management

Experience working within ITIL-based support organizations.ServiceNow, Jira, incident management, change management, and SLA-driven support processes.

Automation & Scripting

Basic scripting experience using Shell, Bash, SQL automation, or related operational tooling.

Ramp-Up Skills (Not Required)

Experience with any of the following platforms is considered advantageous but is not required:

This is a long-term, full-time (Indefinite) contract with a hybrid work model. The role requires availability to work from our offices in Polanco, Mexico City, twice a week, as well as participation in a rotating weekend on-call schedule.
