Senior Network & Automation Engineer

About the role

At IQVIA, the Senior Network Engineer participates in implementing and supporting complex hybrid network infrastructures across global environments. The role helps evolve IQVIA’s global network ecosystem into a programmable, automated, and platform-agnostic infrastructure that aligns with enterprise security standards, performance optimization goals, and scalability requirements.

The work includes planning, deploying, documenting, and maintaining new SoNIC and Cumulus network architectures, as well as existing Cisco architectures, in dynamic and secure environments.

Responsibilities

• Support software-defined networking (SDN) solutions, focusing on Cisco ACI across multiple data centers.
• Integrate AI-driven network monitoring and predictive analytics.
• Advise and mentor Tier 2 engineers, and provide expert-level support during major incidents, including root cause analysis and resolution planning.
• Translate Global Network Support (GNS) standards into actionable low-level designs, including hardware quoting and documentation.
• Partner with Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Global Real Estate teams to integrate new acquisitions into IQVIA’s network standards.
• Lead network buildouts, office restack implementations, refresh initiatives, and strategic network projects across departments, regions, and time zones.
• Automate implementations by generating and deploying F5 configurations, Palo Alto firewall rules, and Cisco ACI policies through Ansible, Python, Terraform, and/or API-driven automation.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines to validate and roll out network and security changes safely and repeatably.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of Linux-based systems, network programmability, and infrastructure-as-code principles.
• Deep technical expertise in hybrid network infrastructures.
