Senior Network Engineer

Job Summary
The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, support, and optimization of the organization's enterprise network infrastructure. This role ensures the availability, performance, scalability, and security of LAN, WAN, wireless, cloud, and data center networking environments.The Senior Network Engineer possesses extensive experience with enterprise networking technologies, routing and switching protocols, network security, cloud connectivity, and infrastructure modernization.
Key Responsibilities
Network Architecture & EngineeringDesign, implement, and support enterprise network architectures across multiple locations.Develop scalable, secure, and highly available network solutions to support business growth.Lead network infrastructure upgrades, migrations, refreshes, and modernization initiatives.Evaluate and recommend new networking technologies and solutions to improve operational efficiency.Routing, Switching & ConnectivityConfigure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise routing and switching environments.Administer and support protocols including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VLANs, STP, and QoS.Support and optimize LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, VPN, Internet, and cloud connectivity solutions.Ensure network designs meet performance, redundancy, and resiliency requirements.Network SecurityImplement and maintain network security controls, including firewalls, VPNs, and Network Access Control (Cisco ISE).Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with security policies and standards.Conduct network security assessments and support remediation initiatives.Support incident response activities related to network security events.Monitoring, Performance & OperationsMonitor network health, capacity, availability, and performance using network management and monitoring tools.Perform proactive troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of complex network incidents.Identify opportunities for performance optimization and capacity planning.Ensure high levels of network uptime and service reliability.Cloud & Infrastructure IntegrationSupport network connectivity and integration with cloud platforms, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud.Assist in the design and deployment of hybrid cloud networking solutions.Collaborate with infrastructure and cloud teams on connectivity, security, and performance initiatives.Documentation & ComplianceDevelop and maintain network diagrams, standards, technical documentation, and operational procedures.Ensure network environments comply with organizational, regulatory, and security requirements.Maintain accurate asset inventories and configuration records.Support audits and compliance reviews as required.Collaboration & LeadershipCollaborate with cybersecurity, systems, cloud, application, and support teams to deliver infrastructure solutions.Provide technical mentoring and guidance to junior engineers and network administrators.Act as a senior technical escalation point for complex networking issues.Participate in on-call support rotations and major incident response activities
