Senior Quality Assurance Engineer Lead

Position OverviewWe are seeking a high-caliber Quality Engineering (QE) Lead & Automation Architect to drive our transition from traditional QA toward an advanced, AI-enabled, automation-first Quality Engineering model. In this role, you will serve as a resident QE Subject Matter Expert (SME), designing scalable automation frameworks, leveraging cutting-edge AI-driven testing tools (including Model Context Protocols), and providing technical oversight across distributed teams.
The ideal candidate has deep hands-on automation expertise, strong software engineering fundamentals, and proven ability to lead nearshore/offshore execution. You will also lead strategic initiatives to modernize our testing ecosystem, including evaluating, augmenting, or replacing legacy vendor tools like Tricentis Tosca with in-house AI-augmented testing capabilities.
Key ResponsibilitiesQE Leadership & Stakeholder ManagementAct as the resident Quality Engineering SME and primary point of contact for cross-functional stakeholders, product owners, and engineering leads.Provide technical direction, code review, and quality oversight for nearshore and offshore testing teams.Drive day-to-day testing operations, ensuring seamless handoffs across time zones and managing urgent quality needs.Establish clear QE metrics, performance indicators, and executive dashboards to measure quality, coverage, and automation efficiency.
Automation Architecture & Tooling InnovationDesign, build, and maintain scalable, reusable test automation frameworks and tooling across complex application landscapes.Architect in-house automation capabilities to reduce long-term reliance on commercial vendor platforms (e.g., Tricentis Tosca).Implement and standardize QE best practices, setting the foundation for a future enterprise Quality Engineering Center of Excellence (COE).
AI-Augmented Quality EngineeringIntegrate AI-driven testing tools, frameworks, and Model Context Protocols (MCP) or similar AI tooling into daily test operations.Critically review, debug, optimize, and refactor AI-generated test code rather than relying blindly on automated outputs.Build custom testing utilities and prompts to accelerate script generation, execution, and root-cause troubleshooting.
Domain-Specific Execution (SAP S/4HANA & Store/Commerce)SAP Stream: Apply SAP S/4HANA business process and workflow knowledge to design automated validation end-to-end. Transition existing Tosca assets into modernized framework solutions.Store / Commerce Stream: Oversee nearshore delivery for store-related application testing, ensuring rapid issue resolution and alignment with global release schedules.
Required Qualifications & Core CompetenciesLeadership & ExperienceExperience: 8+ years of total QE/software testing experience with a proven track record as a QE Lead, Senior QE Engineer, or Automation Architect.Team Management: Demonstrated experience driving distributed execution across nearshore and offshore delivery models.Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with strong stakeholder-management capabilities.
Technical & Engineering SkillsAutomation Expertise: Strong background in framework design, object-oriented programming, and script development (advanced QE level, not manual testing).Troubleshooting & Code Quality: Ability to dive into application code, diagnose failures, and optimize automated test suites for stability and performance.AI & MCP Tooling: Hands-on experience or working familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools, Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations, or AI-based testing platforms.Metrics & Analytics: Hands-on experience defining QE KPIs, test coverage reporting, and dashboard creation.
