About the role
Prowork Group México is seeking a Senior Repair Engineer with hands-on experience in Repair Engineering, MRO, and turbomachinery. The role requires technical judgment to assess component condition and define well-supported repair strategies, including developing criteria, methodologies, and technical repair routes when no predefined solution exists.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate turbomachinery components based on Fit, Form & Function to determine condition, repairability, and required recovery.
- Define repair strategies and process sequences that integrate machining, welding, thermal spray, heat treatment, coatings, NDT, and other applicable processes.
- Develop repair and acceptance criteria, procedures, inspection methods, and Engineering Specifications when no directly applicable OEM criteria exist.
- Interpret engineering drawings, OEM specifications, dimensional requirements, and GD&T to support repair decisions.
- Assess dimensional, metallurgical, and NDT results and analyze damage and failure mechanisms in turbomachinery components.
- Substantiate repair solutions through engineering calculations, testing, metallurgical evidence, service history, and applicable standards.
- Provide technical leadership on the shop floor, resolve critical engineering issues, and develop countermeasures to improve repair quality and reliability.
- Establish and strengthen Repair Engineering methodologies, processes, and standards, and transfer technical knowledge to engineering and workshop teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Design, Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related engineering field.
