Senior Software Engineer

About the role

Garage Club (aka ) is one of the leading second hand car dealerships in Spain. With its main reacondition facilities in Barcelona, the company uses technology to take operations to the next level. This full-time role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining scalable back-end services and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers and other engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Ensure high code quality and drive architectural decisions.
• Implement new features, optimize performance, review code, and troubleshoot production issues.
• Mentor less-experienced engineers, contribute to technical documentation, and continuously improve development processes and tooling.

Requirements

• Foundational knowledge of computer science and software development principles.
• Back-end web development skills, including building and maintaining APIs and server-side services.
• Programming and object-oriented programming (OOP) proficiency, with proven experience in Python.
• Experience with databases, cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure, and modern development tools and version control such as Git.
• Strong problem-solving abilities, clear written and verbal communication skills, and experience working in cross-functional teams.
• Experience leading technical initiatives, performing code reviews, and mentoring other engineers is highly beneficial.
• A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
