Senior Water & Wastewater Project Engineer

About the role

At Consor, the Senior Professional Engineer applies engineering principles and technical expertise to the design and analysis of water and wastewater infrastructure projects. The role takes ownership of design tasks, coordinates with multidisciplinary teams, and ensures work meets technical standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations while developing engineering judgment and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review design plans, calculations, and technical documentation for pipelines, pump stations, and treatment systems.
• Apply engineering standards and design codes to ensure technical accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate design efforts across internal teams, subconsultants, and regulatory agencies.
• Serve as a task lead or assistant project manager for larger project teams, with project management opportunities for contracts up to $1M+.
• Provide technical input, cost estimating, and quality control reviews throughout project development.
• Contribute to and lead QA/QC processes to support design integrity and consistency across deliverables.
• Lead or assist in pursuing new project opportunities and contracts of $750k - $1.25M+ of new work annually.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline.
• 12+ years of water and wastewater engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Basic proficiency in AutoCAD & Civil 3D is a plus but not required.
• The job primarily operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment. Occasional exposure to noise may occur.
• Physical demands may include constant sitting, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, and occasional standing, moving, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling.
