Software Backend Engineer in San Francisco, CA

Job Description Fierceli Inc is seeking a skilled Software Backend Engineer for a full-time contract role based in San Francisco, California. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain backend systems using Java, Spark, and microservices architecture. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable, high-performance applications. Utilize Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration of services. Manage version control and collaboration using Git. Participate in code reviews to uphold quality standards and best practices. Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues efficiently. Contribute to project planning and estimations to ensure timely delivery of milestones. Required and Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with large-scale data platforms. Strong expertise in Spark and Java development. Knowledge of Golang is highly desirable. Good understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. Familiarity with version control systems like Git and CI/CD workflows. Understanding of data formats and frameworks such as Parquet, Avro, Hive, and Iceberg.
