Deep Foundations / Drilled Shafts Specialist📍 Puerto Rico🔒 Confidential SearchA company specializing in technical construction, geotechnical solutions, structural repair, and infrastructure projects is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer with strong experience in deep foundations, particularly drilled shafts, caissons, drilled piers, micropiles, and specialty foundation systems.We are looking for a technically strong engineer with practical field experience and the ability to evaluate, review, supervise, and solve complex soil, rock, and foundation conditions.
🔹 Key Responsibilities• Review geotechnical studies, soil reports, boring logs, subsurface profiles, and foundation recommendations.• Provide technical support on projects involving drilled shafts, caissons, drilled piers, micropiles, anchors, slope stabilization, and soil retention systems.• Participate in the design, review, or validation of deep foundation systems.• Support field activities involving drilling, rebar cage installation, casing, slurry, tremie concrete, bottom cleaning, and concrete placement.• Evaluate field conditions and recommend practical engineering solutions.• Coordinate with superintendents, project managers, structural engineers, inspectors, and specialty contractors.• Review drawings, specifications, submittals, construction methods, and technical documentation.• Support inspections, load testing, integrity testing, quality control, and compliance documentation.• Prepare technical recommendations, field reports, and engineering analyses.
🎯 Requirements• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related field.• Master’s degree in Geotechnical or Structural Engineering preferred.• Senior-level experience in geotechnical engineering, deep foundations, or specialty construction.• Direct experience with drilled shafts / caissons / drilled piers / cast-in-place deep foundations.• Strong knowledge of deep foundation systems, soil-structure interaction, and field problem-solving.• Experience with infrastructure, bridges, buildings, industrial facilities, retaining walls, slope stabilization, or heavy civil construction.• PE or EIT license highly preferred.• Availability to visit project sites and provide technical field support.• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
