SR EHS Engineer

About the role

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is seeking a SR EHS Engineer to assure EHS Management System (MESH) compliance, execute related initiatives, and accomplish area objectives. The role includes reporting, executing the strategy for site ZWTL & ZWD certification, following up on site security, and developing a strong EHS culture.

Responsibilities

• Work with other site areas to develop and implement the annual EHS action plan and EHS projects.
• Participate in the Corporate EHS Audit Program as an auditor.
• Develop and follow up on the EHS compliance calendar and required activities.
• Register employee observations and concerns, and participate in investigations of concerns, EHS incidents, observations, and near misses, including corrective action development, implementation, and follow-up.
• Participate in the emergency brigades and site emergency preparedness.
• Update EHS metric boards and maintain and communicate metrics to facility, division, and/or corporate EHS management as required.
• Evaluate existing EHS programs and develop and implement additional programs as needed.
• Ensure facility systems track the data needed for environmental reports and that reports are submitted on time.
• Teach all required EHS training.
• Assess the location to identify critical EHS hazards and aspects, and work with cross-functional teams on targets and objectives based on key EHS risks.
• Promote a zero-incident EHS culture throughout the site.
• Develop MESH element champions and support their engagement in ownership of MESH elements.
• Act as a champion or co-champion in assigned categories or elements.
• Take an active part in Lean events.
