As a Staff Software Engineer on the Unified Detection team, you will be focused on the back-end systems that power our industry leading products focused on email Security. These highly sophisticated systems are responsible for protecting the corporate email platform of some of the largest brands in the world. We are looking for someone who is an outstanding team player with a positive attitude and high energy, to help us deliver state-of-the-art products. What You'll Do Lead efforts to design, implement software and support systems using industry best-practicesCollaborate with engineers and business stakeholders to identify and implement software solutions to business problemsBuild automation tooling to help monitor production systemsAddress customer reported bugs and provide production supportDrive usage of best application patterns, technologies, and practicesDesign highly scalable and resilient applicationsMentor team members What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in computer science or similar technical field of study8+ years of demonstrated experience building critical software productsProficiency in coding in any language, preferably Golang and PythonStrong understanding of highly distributed architectureExperience working with secured APIs (REST, GraphQL, etc)Cloud computing experience (AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar)Experience in Docker and Kubernetes, preferredExperience working with observability and monitoring tools (Grafana, Kibana, etc)Strong experience working with agile development teamsUnderstanding of best practices in performance tuningExcellent communication, planning and organizational skills Why Proofpoint?
