Street Department Laborer I

The City of Morrilton is looking for a dedicated and hardworking individual to help keep our streets and community safe, clean, and well-maintained.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:
• Maintain and repair streets, sidewalks, storm drains, and public infrastructure
• Operate equipment and use hand & power tools
• Clean storm drains, ditches, and culverts
• Perform street cleaning, snow removal, and landscaping
• Ensure safe work zones and follow all safety protocols
• Assist with public works projects and emergency response efforts

QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• 0–5 years of experience in the street maintenance construction, or related field as a— not required
• Valid driver’s license required (CDL preferred, but not mandatory)
• Basic knowledge of road repair techniques and proper use of tools
• Ability to work independently as part of a team
• Physical stamina and ability to work in all weather conditions

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Perform heavy manual labor, including bending, stooping, standing, and working outdoors
• Operate heavy equipment such as trucks, loaders, and other machinery

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is primarily outdoors in all weather conditions. Must be willing to work nights, weekends, holidays, and during emergencies or special projects.
