About the role
LUMA Energy leads engineering work to design, integrate, test, and optimize the performance of Automation, SCADA, Protection Systems, Historian, and other specialized utility technologies. The role supports high-quality technical execution, resolution of complex engineering issues, and reliable, compliant, and resilient grid operations. Responsibilities
- Supervise a team of engineers and assign, prioritize, and oversee technical work across Automation, SCADA, Protection Systems, Historian, and specialized utility applications.
- Conduct regular performance check-ins and annual reviews, providing technical coaching on protection studies, oscillography analysis, relay settings, grid automation design, and system evaluations.
- Serve as the first-line escalation point for complex technical and project issues, including equipment specification gaps, system integration challenges, relay coordination conflicts, and maintenance program deviations.
- Ensure engineering deliverables, including conceptual designs, protection studies, logic diagrams, SCADA and automation integrations, maintenance programs, and technology evaluations, meet quality, schedule, and budget requirements.
