Supplier Quality Engineer

The Supplier Quality Engineer works within the Global Supplier Quality group and reports to the Site Manager. The role represents the company with raw material suppliers to ensure components meet established specifications, and leads supplier performance improvements, problem-solving activities, and component approvals.

Responsibilities

• Manage containment actions for nonconforming materials received from raw material suppliers and coordinate their disposition.
• Generate and follow up on supplier corrective actions through effective closure using the 8D methodology.
• Communicate internally and externally with corporate, customers, and suppliers about raw material supplier issues and performance.
• Work directly with senior supplier management to improve quality performance.
• Execute AIAG, IATF 16949, and customer-specific requirements throughout the supply chain.
• Execute and follow up on the annual supplier audit plan, including VDA and Run at Rate audits.
• Request, follow up on, review, and approve PPAPs for new components, changes, and annual raw material validations.
• Lead APQP, Engineering Change, and improvement projects with component suppliers.
• Mentor PF1- and PF2-level SQEs in their activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
• Graduate degree preferred.
• Problem-solving using the 8D methodology.
• Knowledge of automotive industry core tools: APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, and FMEA.
