Tech Lead (Events at Scale)

About the role

At Dynamo, we build technology that enables telcos across LATAM, Africa and Europe to communicate with their users through SMS, WhatsApp, RCS, email and SIM-based channels. Our platform supports 500M+ end users and processes millions of messages every day.

We’re looking for an engineering leader to work closely with the CTO, lead a small team and remain hands-on technically. This is not a purely managerial role: you’ll code, challenge technical decisions and help shape how we build and scale the product.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 4: 2 fullstack engineers, 1 infrastructure engineer and 1 security engineer.
• Stay hands-on and contribute code where it matters most.
• Turn ambiguous business needs into technical plans by understanding the problem, validating assumptions, defining scope, prototyping and estimating.
• Partner with the CTO on architecture, product and engineering decisions.
• Help evolve systems that operate at significant scale, including distributed architectures, queues and high-volume messaging.
• Expand how AI is used within the engineering team and product, including automated decisions about who to contact, when and through which channel.

Requirements

• Actively code today.
• Experience directly leading small engineering teams, including 1:1s, hiring and code reviews.
• Experience with high-volume production environments and distributed systems, including real-world incidents, queues and performance bottlenecks.
• AI tools are already part of your work, and you can explain how they have changed your engineering workflow.
• Comfortable working in English with international clients and vendors.
