Traffic Specialist
Position PurposeCoordinate the safe, efficient, and compliant transportation of raw materials to the plant and finished goods to customers. The role is responsible for coordinating truck and rail shipments, working closely with carriers and internal teams, ensuring on-time deliveries, and contributing to a balance between service, cost, safety, and operational efficiency.Requirements & ExperienceDegree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.2+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, or related areas.Experience coordinating bulk chemical shipments via truck and/or rail is strongly preferred.Experience with SAP and Microsoft Office is preferred.Experience coordinating carriers, scheduling deliveries and shipments, and monitoring logistics operations.
KnowledgeKnowledge of transportation, logistics, and supply chain processes.Understanding of hazardous materials (Hazmat) and rail transportation regulations.DOT knowledge is a plus.Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP.Knowledge of or experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS).Knowledge of shipping documentation, bills of lading, and hazardous materials documentation.Understanding of transportation KPIs, freight costs, on-time delivery performance, and logistics-related charges.
