OverviewOur client is looking for an experienced US Tax Accountant – 1040 / 1120S & Tax Credits to manage and execute complex individual, corporate, and partnership U.S. tax returns. This hands-on role lets you leverage extensive tax expertise to identify savings, navigate audits, and directly support case managers and attorneys in a stable, fully remote environment with a robust pipeline of work. Schedule:Monday - Friday, 08:00 AM - 06:00 PM PST (40 work hours per week) ResponsibilitiesPrepare, review, and file U.S. individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns (including 1040 and 1120S), ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulations.Handle original and amended returns while adhering to established standards and procedures.Prepare and analyze financial statements to identify tax-saving opportunities and potential tax risks.Support tax audits, liaise with tax authorities, and represent filings when needed.Research and stay current with U.S. federal and California tax regulations, rulings, and trends.Prepare and support R&D tax credit filings based on provided analysis.Collaborate closely with legal teams, tax teams, case managers, and attorneys to gather necessary information.Collaborate with the legal and tax teams to gather necessary information for tax filings.Provide tax-related insights, recommendations, and reporting to Case Managers and Attorneys. Requirements4+ years of hands-on U.S. tax preparation experience.Proven ability to manage a steady caseload while maintaining accuracy, quality, and deadlines.Extensive high-volume filing experience, particularly across individual, business, and R&D tax filings.Experience handling 1,000+ individual returns, 400–600 business returns, and 200+ R&D filings is highly preferred.Experience with tax audits (internal and external) and original/amended filings.Strong knowledge of U.S. Federal and California state tax regulations and compliance requirements.Proficiency in tax software, specifically TaxAct or similar U.S. tax preparation software.Knowledge of U.S. Federal and California state tax regulations and compliance requirements. Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldProfessional certification (CPA, ACCA, or similar) preferredSpanish language skills are a plusWillingness to complete the client assessment (preparing Forms 1040, 1120S, and an R&D tax credit filing based on provided information).
