Vice President of Engineering

About the role

Ranger Technical Resources is recruiting for a partner with more than 10,000 hotel rooms and 15,000 employees that is embarking on a companywide digital transformation. The organization is building an internal digital product engineering capability to own and evolve the next generation of customer experiences.

As the technical counterpart to a senior Product executive, the leader will establish the engineering vision, architecture, cloud strategy, AI-enabled development practices, and technical foundations supporting multiple customer-facing digital platforms. The role combines Principal Engineer technical depth with VP of Engineering leadership and remains hands-on while building the team, culture, and operating model from the ground up.

Responsibilities

• Establish the engineering vision, architecture, cloud strategy, AI-enabled development practices, and technical foundations.
• Support multiple customer-facing digital platforms and own and evolve the next generation of customer experiences.
• Remain actively involved in architecture, code reviews, prototyping, and engineering decisions while building the engineering organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, a related field, or an equivalent professional background.
• Proven experience building engineering organizations, digital products, or software platforms from the ground up within startup, scale-up, or enterprise transformation environments.
• Principal or Staff-level technical depth designing complex distributed systems, modern software architectures, and customer-facing digital platforms.
• Demonstrated success leading engineering organizations while remaining actively involved in architecture, code reviews, prototyping, and technical decision-making.
