AI Engineer - Voice Agents in California City, CA

Join our fast-paced startup as an AI Engineer specializing in Voice Agents based in California City, California. We are building production-grade voice agents that transform real customer interactions using cutting-edge AI technology. Key Responsibilities Design, build, test, and deploy real-time voice agents managing live customer conversations end-to-end. Leverage voice technology stacks including VAPI, ElevenLabs, Deepgram, and Whisper for superior voice outputs. Rapidly prototype ideas, iterate on feedback, and evolve MVPs into scalable production voice agents. Integrate large language models (LLMs) with telephony platforms, APIs, vector databases, and backend workflows. Analyze and optimize conversational flows to reduce latency and improve reliability in real-world deployments. Collaborate closely with senior engineers and founders on customer projects and deployments. Continuously self-learn and implement emerging generative AI tools, frameworks, and capabilities. Required and Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field. Proven experience building at least 1-2 functional voice agents or AI projects (personal, academic, or professional). Strong understanding of LLMs, prompt engineering, retrieval systems, and conversational AI fundamentals. Familiarity with Text-to-Speech (TTS) and Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) providers. Proficient programming skills in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript. Ability to thrive in a dynamic startup environment with rapid changes and evolving demands.
