Job description
HealthAid Trust is seeking a compassionate Caregiver for Elderly Patients to join our dedicated team in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. This full-time role offers the chance to improve the quality of life for elderly clients by providing personalized care and emotional support. Key Responsibilities Assist elderly patients with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, and meal preparation. Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental and emotional well-being. Administer medications and monitor health conditions according to care plans. Communicate regularly with family members regarding patient status and needs. Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary living environment. Document daily activities and report any changes in patient condition to healthcare professionals. Engage patients in activities that encourage mental and physical stimulation. Required and Preferred Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Strong compassion, patience, and interpersonal skills. Effective communication skills to interact with patients and families. Prior caregiving or healthcare experience preferred but not required. Certifications such as First Aid and CPR are advantageous.
