Company is hiring a skilled Fiber Optic & Structured Cabling Technician in Glens Falls, New York. Join our full-time team and contribute to the deployment and maintenance of critical communication wiring infrastructure that supports our clients' networks. Key Responsibilities Install, terminate, and test fiber optic and structured cabling systems following industry standards and local codes. Perform fiber splicing and OTDR testing to ensure optimal communication line performance and reliability. Troubleshoot and maintain cabling systems to quickly resolve issues. Document installations, maintenance, and test results for compliance and quality assurance. Collaborate with project managers and technicians to complete projects on schedule and within budget. Assist in designing and laying out network cabling systems per client specifications. Conduct site surveys and audits to assess cabling needs for new projects. Required and Preferred Qualifications Technical Certification in Fiber Optics or Structured Cabling is mandatory. Proven experience with fiber optics, structured cabling, low voltage systems, and related tools. Strong skills in splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation. Experience using testing equipment such as OTDRs and patch panels. 2-5 years of telecommunications field experience preferred. Work closely with field technicians, project managers, and support staff to ensure seamless project delivery. Report directly to the Technical Supervisor for guidance and support.
