Key Responsibilities

• Conduct accurate and consecutive translation, transcription, and interpretation from Kurdish-Kurmanji to English and vice versa, ensuring clarity and cultural nuance.
• Translate various syntax, idiomatic expressions, colloquial, and slang phrases to maintain message integrity across languages.
• Support ongoing and new U.S. operations by providing timely and precise linguistic services in austere and challenging environments.
• Collaborate with mission teams to ensure communication effectiveness and operational success.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all translations and interpretations, adhering to security protocols.
• Adapt quickly to changing operational needs and environments, demonstrating flexibility and resilience.
• Document and report linguistic challenges and solutions to improve service quality continuously.
• Participate in training and professional development to enhance linguistic skills and operational knowledge.

What We’re Looking For

Required:

• Fluency in Kurdish-Kurmanji and English with proven experience in interpretation, transcription, and translation.
• Strong understanding of Kurdish-Kurmanji dialects, colloquialisms, and slang.
• Experience working in high-pressure or austere environments preferred.
• Excellent communication, attention to detail, and cultural sensitivity.
• Ability to travel and work on-site in Santo Domingo and potentially other locations.
• Minimum of 2 years professional linguistic experience or relevant military/civilian service.

• Previous experience supporting U.S. government or military missions.
