Job description

This full-time role offers a competitive salary of $101,000 per year and the opportunity to lead projects in a dynamic engineering environment. Responsibilities Design, develop, and implement fully integrated mechanical assembly systems that meet process requirements and applicable codes. Perform hazard analysis and develop effective mitigation plans to ensure safety and compliance. Optimize system reliability by minimizing Class 1 parts and eliminating single points of failure. Prepare comprehensive system documentation, including theory of operation, design descriptions, test plans, and maintenance procedures. Create detailed mechanical design and assembly drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks software. Design and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems to enhance system performance. Conduct stress, fatigue, reliability, life expectancy, and tolerance studies to ensure durability and safety. Apply amusement ride safety standards (ASTM) for guest accelerations, reach envelope, ingress/egress, weight, and emergency evacuation protocols. Assist with system start-up, debugging, and development of technical documentation. Serve as technical lead on projects, mentoring junior engineers, technicians, and contractors. Manage smaller projects valued between $50,000 and $250,000, including planning, resource allocation, scheduling, cost control, and subcontractor management. Propose and manage change orders to maintain project scope and budget. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Experience: Minimum 5 years in mechanical systems design, components, stress analysis, acceleration forces, and amusement ride safety standards (ASTM). Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks design software. Knowledge of contract documents, specifications, field data collection, and system design functions. Strong skills in planning, organization, problem-solving, and customer focus. Proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office applications. Physical Demands Requires visual acuity, color perception, hearing, clear speech, and manual dexterity. Ability to drive, lift, climb, mount/dismount equipment, push, and pull as needed.
