Germane & Wise Mental Health is seeking a dedicated Psychiatric Assistant to join our collaborative care team in Grants Pass, Oregon. This full-time role offers a unique opportunity to work within a primary care setting, helping patients with mental health concerns receive the support they need. As a Psychiatric Assistant, you will conduct semi-structured interviews to gather comprehensive psychiatric histories, facilitate communication between patients, Psychiatric Consultants, and Primary Care Providers, and provide critical follow-up support. You will track patient progress, assist clinical and administrative staff, and serve as the essential link within the care team. Key Responsibilities: Conduct detailed psychiatric interviews using semi-structured formats. Facilitate clear communication among patients, Psychiatric Consultants, and Primary Care Providers. Perform regular follow-up calls to monitor patient progress and treatment goals. Support clinic staff and act as the eyes and ears of the Psychiatric Consultant. Collaborate with Germane & Wise team members across locations, including virtual attendance at monthly trainings. Ideal Candidate Qualifications: Strong interest in mental health and assisting patients in accurately communicating their concerns. Excellent listening skills with the ability to detect subtle cues indicating additional support needs. Clear and effective communication skills to relay information between patients and providers. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment. Commitment to supporting mental health care within a primary care setting.
