Gurus Education is seeking a passionate and dynamic Public Speaking & Debate Instructor to join our team in Burlingame, California . This part-time position offers an exciting opportunity to inspire students and help them develop strong communication and critical thinking skills in a supportive environment. Key Responsibilities Develop and deliver interactive lesson plans tailored to varying student skill levels in public speaking and debate. Conduct regular practice sessions and mock debates to improve students' speaking and analytical abilities. Provide constructive feedback and encourage student participation in competitions. Organize workshops and guest speaker events to expand students' perspectives on effective communication. Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet individual learning needs. Collaborate with faculty to integrate public speaking principles across subjects. Engage with parents and stakeholders to communicate student progress and achievements. Required and Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Education, Communication, or related field. Proven experience in public speaking, debate, and effective communication. Strong critical thinking and presentation skills. Familiarity with instructional tools and techniques specific to debate and public speaking. Preferred: Experience teaching students at various levels in an educational setting. This role is part of a collaborative and innovative team dedicated to student success. The instructor will report to the Education Coordinator and work closely with other faculty members to enhance interdisciplinary learning. Compensation: $55 per hour Location: On-site in Burlingame, CA (remote work not eligible) Employment Type: Part-time
