Job description
Title: Resident Engineer Contract Duration: 3+ years Pay Rate: $100 - $120 per hour Skytech Staffing is partnering with a well-established Construction Management firm with over 25 years of experience providing top-tier construction management, inspection services, and materials testing for public works projects across California. We are seeking a dedicated and solutions-oriented Resident Engineer to oversee highway and bridge construction projects in Rancho Santa Margarita, CA. This role is critical to ensuring projects meet cost, schedule, safety, environmental, and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Manage and supervise engineering projects ensuring compliance with Contract and Caltrans Standard Plans and Specifications. Prepare detailed technical documentation, including reports, demonstrating strong technical writing skills. Develop Change Orders, respond to RFIs, and manage submittal responses. Prepare pay estimates and quantity sheets accurately. Draft correspondence related to Potential Claim Records. Collaborate with and manage Assistant Resident Engineers effectively. Conduct site inspections to monitor project progress and ensure adherence to plans and specifications. Coordinate with clients, contractors, utility companies, and regulatory agencies to facilitate project success. Assist in reviewing project schedules and budgets to maintain timely delivery and cost control. Qualifications Strong construction management skills with a commitment to high-quality, timely results. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Experience working with Caltrans standards and public works projects preferred. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. This is a full-time, on-site position located in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. Remote work is not eligible.
