Key Responsibilities

• Lead estimating efforts across diverse residential projects including low-rise, mid-rise, and high-rise developments, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Provide early-stage cost analysis during design development and acquisitions to support strategic decision-making and budget planning.
• Collaborate closely with senior leadership and construction teams to align project objectives, resource allocation, and risk management.
• Enhance estimating standards, systems, and best practices to improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency across projects.
• Identify scope gaps and manage risks proactively throughout the project lifecycle to ensure compliance with budgets and timelines.
• Analyze construction drawings and specifications to deliver detailed, precise cost estimates that build stakeholder confidence.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and favorable contract terms.
• Mentor junior estimators and contribute to continuous team development and knowledge sharing.

What We’re Looking For

Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• 15+ years of estimating experience in residential construction projects, including low-rise to high-rise developments.
• Strong expertise in conceptual, schematic, and detailed cost estimating methodologies.
• Proven commercial judgment with demonstrated decision-making skills in complex project environments.
• Expertise in risk management and identifying scope gaps to mitigate project risks effectively.
• Established network of subcontractors and suppliers within the Toronto and Ontario construction markets.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills to foster collaboration and guide teams.

Preferred:

• Experience with construction management software and estimating tools such as Bluebeam, ProEst, or similar platforms.
• Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and permitting processes in Ontario.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or equivalent.
• Demonstrated ability to lead process improvements and implement best practices in estimating.
