Sr Python Engineer – Lima, Peru (Remote Eligible)

Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop robust backend systems using Python and Django frameworks to meet business requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including front-end developers and product managers to deliver seamless user experiences.
- Implement and optimize database schemas and queries for PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQLite to ensure data integrity and performance.
- Maintain high code quality through unit testing, code reviews, and adherence to software engineering best practices.
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and scalability issues to support growing user bases.
- Mentor junior developers, fostering knowledge sharing and continuous team improvement.
- Stay updated with emerging Python libraries and frameworks such as Flask or Pyramid to innovate and improve development processes.
- Contribute to technical documentation and participate in sprint planning to align development with business goals.
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Python development with strong expertise in Django.
- Advanced English proficiency to communicate effectively in a global team environment.
- Solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices.
- Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQLite.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Preferred:
- Experience with additional Python frameworks like Flask or Pyramid.
- Knowledge of containerization tools such as Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
- Previous experience mentoring junior developers or leading technical teams.
