Job description
Job Title: Surgical Technologist II - 2 Positions Location: Katy, TX 77094 Job Type: Full-time, 3 Months Contract Shift Details: Day shift available: one 8-hour shift (06:45 AM - 3:15 PM CST) and one 10-hour shift (06:45 AM - 5:15 PM CST) Worksite: Texas Children’s Hospital, West Campus, Katy, Texas Key Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare and assist in operating room setup tailored to patient age and surgical procedure, including knowledge of surgical pathology, allergies (especially latex), and preparation of special equipment such as implants and prostheses. Anticipate surgeon needs by opening or having supplies readily available in a cost-effective manner, collaborating with circulating nurse and referencing preference cards when necessary. Maintain accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments 100% of the time in compliance with established policies. Assist in specimen care and labeling to ensure proper handling and identification. Participate in in-services and continuing education to maintain professional development and surgical technology competencies. Qualifications: Previous experience as a Surgical Technologist preferred. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment. Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
