I'm working in priorities, I would say it's the best to try to acknowledge or determine which one of your projects have the closest deadline. That way you can focus in doing one job that has the soonest deadline, so you can meet that one and you don't have to be stressing out about doing other projects at the same time, but also focusing on the ones that it needs to be done as quickly as possible, so then you can move on to the next one. For me, that would be the best thing.

Interpreter

Working as an interpreter, I can say that the most difficult situation that I can face is genetic calls because usually there's a lot of terminology that you don't usually work with and sometimes it's very new and there's a lot of terms and concepts that you may not understand. And it's your job to, if you are not understanding, if you are not familiar with the term, don't be ashamed and ask and tell the doctor or the person explaining, Can you explain me what this means? Can you tell me what this acronym means, what it stands for, so that way you can understand it, and that way you can pass it on to the other person so all of them can have a better understanding and also get the real meaning of what is being said.

I can say that in my interpretation role, the feedback that I always get is that I try to be very professional, that I always try to focus and get the main ideas and also try to sound professional and get the terms accordingly. So that's something that I'm really proud of. It's not that I'm bragging about it, but it's something that really keeps me motivated to continue doing what I'm doing.

I can say that prioritizing and verifying your deadlines, it will be the best because that way you can know which one has the soonest deadlines, so that way you can focus on that one and then move to the next one. So that way you can fulfill them as much as possible, and that way you don't get stressed out because you have to work on several at the same time, but you might need to focus in just one to make sure you're doing one at a time.

I feel that the best way to address those is to verify how the deadlines work. For example, if you have one that has a deadline that is longer than the one you have currently, for example, if I have one that is a long project, but the deadline is at the end of the week, but then you have another one that is short, but it is due by next week, even though making the short one will sound like it would be faster to, in this case, you might focus on the longest one, which has the shortest deadline, so that way you can meet that one, and once that is done, you can move on to the next one and so on, and try to prioritize based on deadlines, so that way you can fulfill them the best possible.

Medical Interpreter

In my experience as a medical interpreter, the most challenging experiences that I have had are with genetic scenarios because genetic is something that we are not very familiarized with, but at the end of the day, it is your job to make sure you understand all the terminology. And if there's a term, for example, that you don't understand or that you are not familiar with, make sure to understand it, but also make sure to review it so that way you can get the spelling, you can get the synonyms, everything that is involved in that term so you can render it in a way that the person will understand it, not just provide the official term, but also provide something that the client or the person that we are translating it for will understand and will be clear for them so they won't have just the term itself, but a little bit of explanation.

Based on my interpretation role, the feedback that I always get is that they are very professional. They always say that I always try to go by the professional terms, that I always try to stay focused on the real meaning without altering messages, and that's something that I feel proud of. Not because I like to brag, but it is something that motivates me to continue doing what I've been doing and to also continue improving as well.
