Material handling - load/offload steel, plates, pipes with forklift, crane, or by hand. Cut & prep material - use grinders, bandsaws, or cutting torches to cut steel to size. Marking out- measure and mark steel using tape, square, chalk as per drawings. Cleaning - prep metal by grinding, removing rust/scale before welding. Assist Tradespeople. Hold & clamp work- position parts for welders/boilermakers during fit-up. Fetch tools/consumables- get welding rods, grinding discs, gas, bolts, etc.. Tack welding- basic tack welds if you have a certificate. Assembly - help bolt up structures, use spanners and torque wrenches. Safety & Housekeeping. PPE compliance- wear overalls, steel-toe boots, gloves, goggles, ear protection. Keep workshop clean - sweep, clear scrap metal, pack tools away. Follow safety rules- watch for overhead cranes. Report hazards - tell supervisor about unsafe equipment. Read drawings- learn to read basic fabrication drawings and symbols. Measure & check- use tape measures, calipers to verify sizes. Tool control* - sign tools in/out, report broken equipment

Manage queues- direct cars to open pumps during busy times. Forecourt Upkeep. Keep area clean- pick up litter, sweep around pumps. Restock shelves- help with oil, air fresheners, etc. if your station has a shop. End of shift duties - balance your cash-up
