FIBERGLASS SPECIALIST / COMPOSITE TECHNICIAN

Perform hand lay-up FRP/GRP lamination for structural, exterior and interior composite components in a high-volume production environment.. Prepare, clean and inspect molds; apply mold release and complete surface/tooling readiness before lamination.. Cut and place fiberglass reinforcement, build laminate layers, wet out and consolidate reinforcement, and control workmanship through the lamination sequence.. Measure, mix and apply polyester and epoxy resin systems according to production requirements and material specifications.. Fabricate and finish front and rear body panels, dashboards, front grilles, engine lids, fiberglass water tanks, septic tanks and other composite components.. Carry out demoulding, trimming, cutting, grinding, sanding, fitting, bonding and surface finishing to achieve required dimensions and appearance.. Inspect completed parts for surface defects, voids, dry areas, uneven laminate, dimensional issues and workmanship; perform patching, repair, re-lamination and rework when required.. Follow production drawings, specifications and work instructions while maintaining consistent laminate quality and dimensional accuracy.. Work to demanding production schedules, contributing to approximately 3 buses per day / 78 buses per month while maintaining quality and safety requirements.. Troubleshoot urgent fabrication and finishing problems and implement practical corrective actions to maintain production continuity.. Use hand and power tools safely and maintain clean, organized work areas in accordance with PPE, workshop safety and 5S practices.. Support and mentor less-experienced workers in fiberglass lamination, mold preparation, finishing, repair and safe working practices.
