AI Engineer - Voice Agents in California City, CA

Key Responsibilities

• Build, test, and deploy real-time voice agents managing live customer conversations end-to-end.
• Utilize voice technology stacks such as VAPI, ElevenLabs, Deepgram, and Whisper to produce high-quality voice outputs.
• Prototype ideas rapidly, iterate based on feedback, and transition MVPs into production-ready voice agents.
• Integrate large language models (LLMs) with telephony tools, APIs, vector databases, and backend workflows.
• Analyze and optimize conversational flows to reduce latency and increase reliability in real-world applications.
• Collaborate closely with senior engineers and company founders on customer deployments and projects.
• Continuously self-learn and implement emerging tools, frameworks, and capabilities in generative AI.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Proven experience building at least 1-2 working voice agents or AI projects (personal, academic, or professional).
• Strong understanding of LLMs, prompts, retrieval systems, and conversational agent fundamentals.
• Familiarity with Text-to-Speech (TTS) and Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) providers.
• Proficient programming skills in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic startup environment managing rapid changes and demands.
• Self-motivated learner with a passion for generative AI and emerging technologies.
