Nickerson Talent Solutions (NTS) is hiring Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanics for an exciting aerospace and defense maintenance program in Birmingham, Alabama.If you have 3+ years of experience in aircraft sheet metal, aircraft structures, structural repair, depot maintenance, or heavy maintenance, this is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team with competitive pay, outstanding benefits, relocation assistance, and long-term career stability.
What You'll Do• Perform aircraft structural repairs, sheet metal fabrication, and component replacements.• Complete depot-level heavy maintenance, structural modifications, and aircraft overhauls.• Perform close tolerance drilling, riveting, reaming, countersinking, and installation of high-strength fasteners.• Fabricate and repair metal, composite, fiberglass, and bonded honeycomb aircraft structures.• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, Structural Repair Manuals (SRMs), and technical publications.• Perform corrosion removal, prevention, inspections, and maintenance documentation.• Maintain quality standards, FOD prevention, and tool accountability.
What We're Looking For• 3+ years of aircraft sheet metal or aircraft structural maintenance experience.• Experience supporting commercial, military, government, or DoD aircraft.• Experience with depot maintenance, heavy maintenance, aircraft modifications, or structural fabrication preferred.• Strong skills in riveting, structural assembly, close tolerance drilling, and sheet metal repair.• FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant (A&P) certification is a plus.• Previous USAF AFSC 2A753 or 2A773 is highly preferred.• Ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance.
