Job description
Join our small family farm in Washington, Missouri, as an Animal Feeder and Farm Laborer. We need reliable help to feed and water a large number of animals during weekday morning and afternoon shifts.
Job Details:
- Location: Washington, Missouri, USA
- Schedule: Morning shifts 7:30 AM - 11:30 AM; Afternoon shifts 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
- Full-Time: Wednesday through Sunday, must work one weekend day
- Part-Time: Thursday through Sunday available
- Weekend Retail Sales: Saturdays 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM (April 6 to November 2, 2024)
Responsibilities:
- Feed and water animals daily regardless of weather conditions
- Clean barns and cages on a rotating schedule (goat barn, rabbit barn, quail shed)
- Assist with butchering chickens and ducks
- Operate milking machines for goats twice daily
- Maintain animal health and welfare with care and attention
- Travel between two farm properties located ¼ mile apart
Requirements:
- Farm experience required for full-time applicants; references needed
- Ability to lift 50 lb feed bags and walk up to 10,000 steps daily
- Comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions (cold, snow, heat)
- Reliable transportation between farm locations
- Honest, hardworking, and passionate about farm-to-table operations
