Job OverviewA law firm seeks an Antitrust and Merger Control Associate in Chicago. The role focuses on HSR compliance and merger control, requiring 2 to 4 years of experience in Hart-Scott-Rodino filings, merger reviews, and antitrust regulatory clearance. The Associate will engage in government investigations, counseling, compliance, and litigation within the antitrust practice.DutiesPrepare and manage Hart-Scott-Rodino filings.Navigate merger review processes before the DOJ and FTC.Coordinate multi-jurisdictional filings.Conduct antitrust due diligence.Advise clients on competition-related risks in mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.Requirements2-4 years of antitrust and competition law experience.Experience with Hart-Scott-Rodino filings and Second Requests.Substantive antitrust analysis of mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures.Familiarity with government investigations and enforcement proceedings.Experience advising on competition-related risks and compliance.Ability to manage multiple matters and work collaboratively.Excellent analytical, research, writing, and communication skills.EducationJuris Doctor (JD) degree required.CertificationsBar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.SkillsStrong analytical and research abilities.Effective communication and writing skills.Proficiency in managing complex legal matters.BenefitsStructured development and mentorship.Collaborative culture with world-class colleagues.Meaningful pro bono and community engagement.Well-being benefits, including family-forming support and mental health resources.
