About the role

The Area Manager - Biomed is responsible for the overall direction and execution of the Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP) at hospitals in the designated area. The role leads the Biomedical engineering department team for the allocated area and works with the Regional Manager to develop financial and operational plans.
Responsibilities
- Lead Account Managers, Account Coordinators, Biomedical Technicians and Biomed Support/Interns in the allocated area.
- Assist in recruiting, training and developing a motivated and dedicated team of Account Managers.
- Provide guidance, leadership and coaching to the Biomed team in alignment with Prime Healthcare’s vision, missions and goals.
- Conduct meetings at least once every month, set goals for the area and review team progress.
- Review and approve employee time, attendance and payroll data from time sheets.
- Direct the Biomedical Department during regulatory inspections, including those by The Joint Commission (TJC), DNV-GL, Hospital Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP), Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), College of American Pathologists (CAP) and applicable State regulatory agencies.
- Communicate and ensure team compliance with changes in regulations, policies and procedures set by national and state regulatory bodies.
