Job description
This position works directly with our teleoptometry/telehealth eye exams. You will spend the majority of your time in the exam area, guiding patients through their eye exam and assisting them throughout the examination with the doctor.
You’ll perform pre-testing, operate computerized eye-testing equipment, explain procedures to patients, assist during the telehealth exam, and help make sure each patient feels comfortable and informed from beginning to end.
Training will be provided on our equipment, technology, and teleoptometry process, but we are looking for someone who already has optical/eye-care experience and understands basic optical terminology.
Requirements (from flyer): Spanish AND English required; Previous optical/eye-care experience required; Comfortable working directly with patients during eye exams; Familiar with basic optical terms such as myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, presbyopia, SPH, CYL, Axis and ADD; Familiarity with single-vision, bifocal and progressive lenses and common lens materials/options is preferred; Must be available to work Saturdays.
