Job description
A prestigious international law firm is seeking a Business Litigation Associate to join its expanding Business Restructuring and Insolvency team in New York, NY. This full-time, on-site role is suited to an attorney with at least three years of recent commercial, securities, or bankruptcy litigation experience in an Am Law firm setting.
Responsibilities
- Represent debtors, creditors, creditors’ committees, ad hoc committees, secured lenders, and specialist investors.
- Develop solutions for clients and other participants in distressed markets.
- Manage discovery and draft persuasive legal briefs.
- Counsel clients across a broad range of business litigation and restructuring matters, applying sound legal and business judgment.
- Take and defend depositions and argue cases.
Qualifications
- At least three years of current or very recent commercial, securities, or bankruptcy litigation experience at an Am Law firm.
- Strong legal and business acumen, with demonstrated ability to counsel clients effectively.
- Proven deposition and courtroom advocacy experience.
- Prior bankruptcy experience preferred but not required.
- Excellent academic credentials from a top-tier law school; Law Review or Moot Court recognition is desirable.
- Strong legal research, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Admission to the New York Bar required.
Compensation and benefits
Annual compensation is $280000 per year, commensurate with experience. The firm offers an excellent work environment and benefits package.
