Cashier

A reputable Hardware Company in the North is seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier to join its growing team. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, a positive attitude and a commitment to accuracy and customer satisfaction. Core Responsibilities: To greet customers warmly and assist with inquiries in a friendly and professional manner. To operate cash registers, scanners, printers and other POS equipment accurately. To handle cash, credit/debit cards and other payment methods. To issue receipts, refunds and exchanges according to company policies. To maintain an accurate cash drawer and reconcile at the end of shift. To bag merchandise carefully and offer to help customers carry items if needed. To keep the checkout area clean at all times, organized and fully stocked with necessary supplies. To minimize loss prevention and notify management of any suspicious behaviour. To support other team members and assist with store operations as needed. Qualifications: High school Diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior cashier or retail experience is a plus, but not required. Basic math and computer skills. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to stand for long periods and work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays. Proficiency in the use of Point of Sale (POS) systems and inventory management software is an asset. Compensation: A competitive salary based on qualifications and experience.
