Job description
About the role
HMC Products’ HMC division is seeking a CNC Machinist to manufacture parts according to drawings, maintain raw material inventory in accordance with inventory control policies, and maintain machinery through proper preventative maintenance. The division produces packaging equipment for its global customer base.
The facility is modern, clean, safe, and climate-controlled. The role contributes to improving packaging performance and shaping the future of automation.
Responsibilities
- Operate and program Haas CNC mill and lathe machines safely and productively.
- Plan machining by studying detailed and complex blueprints and work orders, and interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD & T).
- Download and edit programs by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; set tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches.
- Calculate requirements using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry, and prove part programs.
- Verify settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample work pieces.
- Partner with engineering on R & D projects.
- Maintain quality control through inspections.
- Keep equipment and the work area clean and orderly.
- Maintain machinery through proper preventative maintenance and maintain raw material inventory in accordance with inventory control policies.
Requirements
- Manufacturing experience; experience in a custom machine shop is preferred.
- Experience running Haas CNC equipment is preferred but not required.
- Excellent safety practices and mindset.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and engage in multiple jobs.
- Detail-oriented approach and focus on continuous improvement.
